After a turbulent 2017, with struggles in both the youngster’s personal and school life, Michael and his family, who are huge Vikings supporters, were invited to come to the Halton Stadium and experience a Vikings Match Day like no other as part of the new ‘Dream Maker’ initiative.

Kicking off the special day, Michael was greeted by Vikings’ winger, Ryan Ince, who gave him an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the first team changing rooms, taking his place in the seats of all of his favourite Vikings stars, before heading over to the inner sanctum of the team's Delivered Health Solutions Performance Centre.

After the tour had finished, Michael and his family dined in style in the exclusive C&C Insurance Karalius Suite, taking in all the entertainment that the Vikings’ hospitality has to offer.

The highlight of the day for Michael was when he was handed the opportunity to lead the Vikings’ team out for the opening round fixture, alongside Co-Captain Chris Houston, ahead of kick-off.

Charlotte Jakeman, Education Officer at the Vikings, and oversaw Michael's special day says: "It was brilliant to have Michael down with us for the Catalans game," she said.

"He and his family was greeted by Ryan, who was great with him and showed us around all of the first team facilities and changing rooms, and gave an insight to Michael and his family that they loved. It was great for him to have a day he thoroughly enjoyed and a great way to kick off the new season.

"We look forward to having more days like this for children who deserve the VIP treatment!"
