Chris Goggin examines the situation as it stands in the UK energy, heating, and hot water supply industry.
-
One of the largest chains of fitness facilities and recreation centres in the UK has shifted to employing electric cylinders and commercial air source heat pump products from the Rinnai line as a key component of hybrid heating and hot water systems at locations across the nation. The cutting-edge new line of air source heat pumps uses R290, a refrigerant with a low global warming potential score.

A large 72 room care home in Surrey with a 123-person occupancy needed to reduce its operational carbon emissions by 20% but maintain a generous hot water supply during peak periods. The owner-operators also needed to re-structure both the operational costs and energy usage.
-
Rinnai UK’s team of Heating & Hot Water System Designers have provided a well-recognized hotel, spa and golf resort in the north of England with plans to install one of two new systems that are proven to reduce cost, carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency.

12 March 2024
As global economies continue to identify and incorporate clean and sustainable energies into respective national options, hydrogen has emerged as a potential source of energy capable of decarbonising and delivering power to domestic and commercial applications.
-
1 March 2024
By harnessing the power of the sun, solar thermal systems can use solar panels or tubes to heat water, providing a continuous and reliable supply of domestic hot water for residential or commercial properties. Not only will they reduce the sites’ dependence on fossil fuels, but they can also reduce onsite operational expenditure.
-
12 February 2024
As the demand for clean, sustainable energy intensifies, solar thermal technology has emerged as a leading solution in the renewable energy sector.
-
5 February 2024
Chris Goggin looks at how domestic energy policy in the UK is now being implemented, with a particular emphasis on renewable energy dispersion. A significant amount of work needs to be done before the UK can be considered carbon neutral as it replaces fossil fuels with renewable alternatives.
-
Rinnai has expanded its lineup of decarbonising appliances with the inclusion of a new line of commercial heat pump technology. R290 is a LOW score (Global Warming Potential) refrigerant used in the cutting edge new line of air source heat pumps.
-
2 February 2024
Industrial heat pumps operate on the same principle as a refrigerator but in reverse. Instead of extracting heat from the inside and releasing it outside, commercial air source heat pumps absorb heat from the outside environment and transfer it to the desired location.
-
Rinnai is embarking on an ambitious and innovative programme of launching several new products within its H1 – Hydrogen and DME ready water heaters, H2 – Hybrid systems and H3 – Low-GWP heat pumps product categories. These new products will ensure the company offers a comprehensive range of appliances and systems for heating and hot water suited to both commercial and residential applications.
